Put some type of screen, that extends pass the lint opening, which wil catch the lint. Make it so you can take off the screen, and clean it. Your lint pipe should catch excess lint. Vacuum your lint trap once a month. Also wash the screen with dish liquiid and hot water, and rinse and let dry completely. Film builds up on the screen, this could cause a fire.
